Programs inspired by Guru-Shishya Parampara

ICKD aims to nurture your passion and dedication. Each student is given all means to be at par and progress with their peers. We believe a disciplined execution of the dance style will reap the most benefits for you physically, emotionally and spiritually. We believe within this discipline you experience - art, knowledge, wisdom, science, yoga, action and through dedicated practice spiritual enlightenment.

New Students may join only the programs below, at the moment we do not open space in the advanced program

Kuchipudi Foundations – Junior

  • Join a 2-year junior Kuchipudi program

  • Classes: 1-hour Zoom sessions, twice a week

  • Group size: up to 10 students

  • Instructor: Bhavana ma’am

  • Curriculum:

    • Build strong core adavus (basic steps)

    • Learn full choreographies

    • Begin Abhinaya (expressive technique)

    • Theory integrated with practical training

  • Note: New students may not join at this level

Kuchipudi Foundations - Beginner

Beginner program

  • Format: 1-hour Zoom sessions, twice weekly

  • Group size: Small — maximum 12 students

  • Teacher: Bhavana ma'am

What you’ll learn

  • Body preparation with vyāyāma (traditional exercises)

  • Core Kuchipudi theory and practical technique

  • Gradual, structured progression over the year

Duration: 1 year

Suitable for newcomers and those returning after a break. Session pace balances safe physical preparation with steady skill-building.

Kuchipudi Foundations - Intermediate

Dedicated, hardworking students with passion or ambition for Kuchipudi continue at this level.

Intermediate program: two 1-hour Zoom sessions per week.

Focus:

  • Advanced theory, abhinaya, and choreography

  • Continued emphasis on the broad Kuchipudi foundation for its beauty and variety

  • Introduction to dance careers combining performance, teaching, community outreach, and leadership

Entry for new students: must complete one year of combined Junior and Beginner Foundation study (equivalent to 4 extra hours of sessions per week) before joining.

Duration: 2–3 years

Scholarships for regular classes are provided to one student per 6 months on presenting proof of financial need
